He has exhibited extensively in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata and other metros, and also shown in Dubai, USA, UK, Sweden, Indonesia, Turkey and Germany where his works are part of major collections. Lal is currently working as the Assistant Director of Design, Handicrafts & Textile Department with the Government of Punjab, Chandigarh and is the Honorary Vice-Chairman of the Lalit Kala Akademi, Chandigarh.
