Born: 1931 (Karachi, migrating later to India)
Studied at Banaras Hindu University (B.F.A. Gold Medalist; M.F.A.), followed by a Ph.D. in Fine Arts from MJP Rohilkhand University. Also trained in Art Appreciation at the State Museum, Lucknow.
